Camera setup with CST:
8.7.5.1 Feature: scan speed optimization
If the sum of all line patterns is shorter than the sequence time, the scanning speed can be
optimized as follows:
Based on the sample data from above, the total active time (sum of all line pattern times) for
all of the 4 line patterns is 240 µs (minimum sequence time).
The sequence time is set to 400µs. This results in an idle time for this setup of about 160µs.
This permits to reduce the sequence time and thus to speed up the total scanning speed.
Conventional camera setup:
-
4 individual flash scenarios
-
Integration time 100µs
-
Required time for one full sequence = 400µs
allPIXA pro - optimized camera setup by use of the flash function:
-
4 individual flash scenarios
-
Using the real individual line pattern times for scanning:
resulting sequence time = 240µs (100µs+40µs+50µs+50µs)
-
Required time for one full sequence = 240µs
-
Depends also on minimum integration time and camera link mode.
The optimized flash scenarios lead to a much faster sequence time of 240µs instead of 400µs.
By use of the allPIXA pro flash function the next flash sequence can be started right after
240µs. This in total saves 160µs of scanning time per sequence.
Scanning speed increase of about
66%
