Foreword: An Alveograph is factory-adjusted and calibrated. A deviation
deemed excessive over time, or any major repairs, may require the
instrument to be re-calibrated.
The Alveograph has a function that calibrates Alveograph measure-
ments, based on factory settings adjusted according to coefficients
taken from flour tests with known results (P, L).
This operation should only be carried out should the need
arise, and only by trained staff.
Limits and warnings:
1. Run a test with each of the 2 reference flours, and record the
resulting P and L values for each flour.
2. On the PC select the [Maintenance] tab then click the [Calibra-
tion] icon - enter 1234.
3. Click the [Calibration] icon again: the list of calibration values is
displayed.
4. To create a calibration, click the [Add] icon.
5. Name the calibration then click [+] (add tests).

- Calibration is only possible if your results (P and L) on the Alve-
ograph are within 45% of the control samples' values.
- This function requires at least 2 flour references, with P and L
values as far apart as possible. For each of the several tests one
could take them into account.
- Calibration tests are conducted in one go.
- The ambient conditions must be stable throughout the opera-
tions.
