Communication Pathway Test
The Communication Pathway Test will ensure that all communication pathways utilised by the device are functioning
as expected.
There are two methods of testing to confirm that
all communication pathways
being utilised are functioning as
expected. One is
manual
and the other is
automatic
. Both methods send a test to each data address in the destination
fields, that have been set up in the unit.
16.1
Manual Pathway Test
A manual test of all communication pathways should be performed
at each installation or service call. There can be up
to 12 pathways, depending on the base unit setup. This assessment will guarantee that the connection between the
unit and monitoring is fully functional at the time of installation.
•
To initiate the Communication Pathway Test, press and hold the
Connect
button, until you hear
“Pathway
test started…”
•
The lights under the Help button will illuminate clockwise when the pathway test is being performed.
•
The Cancel button will be illuminated during this process to indicate that it can be pressed at any time to
cancel the pathway test.
•
SEVEN will announce which communication pathway and destination list position is being tested,
e.g.
“Cellular A,
1
.”
Following each communication pathway test, the unit will announce either
“
Pass
”
or
“Fail”
. When all unique
pathways have been tested successfully, the alarm will announce,
“Communication Pathway Testing Success.”
If you hear
“Fail”
after a pathway is tested, you will need to take note of the communication pathway that failed, and
the number of the destination list position.
You can perform the Communication Pathway Test multiple times and use the Cancel button to exit at any stage.
16.2
Automatic Pathway Test
Automated Communication Pathway testing can be configured to occur after a specified number of test signals. Any
pathway failure will be retested 24 hours later. In the event that the pathway testing fails, the base unit will generate
a report that outlines where the communication issue is occurring. Any communication issue will need to be resolved
in a timely manner to ensure the base unit is effectively communicating with monitoring.
These reports will need to be enabled in the configuration.

SEVEN Battery Pack
SEVEN has a rechargeable battery pack that can be accessed and replaced by unscrewing the battery cover
with a TORX 10 screwdriver. It is recommended to disconnect all cables before opening the base unit
battery cover. Be aware that if the plug pack is faulty and you open the base unit without disconnecting the
power cable you may be exposed to hazardous voltages.
