Reminders
Up to six daily reminders can be set on an individual base
unit using the Chiptech Wizard software to manually
change settings in the configuration. Please refer to the
Chiptech Wizard Manual (version 1.46+) for information
on how to set daily reminders.
Ticking a box and setting the time will enable a generic
reminder that will announce the time.

“This is your ten thirty reminder
,
” followed
by,
“
Press cancel to clear this message
.”
The ‘Cancel’ button will
illuminate orange during the
reminder announcements. Press ‘Cancel’
to clear and
acknowledge the reminder notification.
Reminders can be set to voice repeat with a specific delay in minutes between the repeats. The delay can range from
thirty seconds to just over two hours, and the setting chosen applies to all six reminders (voice repeats cannot be set
for individual reminders). Reminders can also be set to auto clear after a period of time, specified in hours.
11.1
Reminder Reports
Press the ‘Cancel’ button
to send a
‘
reminder/message acknowledgement
’
event code to the monitoring centre when
the
Send Ack Report
box is ticked*.
A report to say that a reminder has not been acknowledged can also be setup to occur. Ticking the
Send Not Ack
report
brings up a timing window where you can specify in minutes how long the reminder will repeat before a
’reminder not acknowledged’ report is sent to monitoring.
A reminder will be cleared when the reminder not
acknowledged time is reached.
Please consider this timing in conjunction with the ‘Reminders voice prompt repeat
delay’ to ensure the message is repeated enough tim
es that the user has time to action it.
If a second reminder occurs before the first is acknowledged, then the first reminder will be replaced with the new
reminder. The time set for the
Send Not Ack report
for the first reminder MUST be less than the time it takes for the
next reminder to announce, otherwise a ’reminder not acknowledged’ wil
l never be sent.
11.2
Additional Voice Phrases
An additional voice phrase can be added to announce after the time, e.g. “This is your 12 o’clock reminder, it is lunch
tim
e soon”
followed by,
“
Press cancel to clear this message
.”
Current voice phrases that can be selected (included on voice file version 1.17) are as follows:

“…it is time to take your medication.”
•
“…
your carer will arrive shortly.”
•
“…
it is breakfast time so
on.”
•
“…
it is lunch time soon.”
•
“…
it is dinner time soon.”
Please Note:
Reminders are not designed to be applied as a configuration across a fleet of SEVEN base units.
Reminders are blocked while in ‘Away’ mode.
