Flashes orange to let you know there is a connection that is not working, (but there is still
one able to be used to send an alert).
The red flash indicates there are no connections to monitoring, an alert will not work.
If a cellular connection remains unavailable for over an hour, SEVEN will try to send a report over the next available
pathway (if connected), or over the cellular network when it becomes available again, to let monitoring know that a
cellular problem has occurred (configuration option).
There can be a voice file to accompany the '
Connect’
warning light. This is optionally enabled in the configuration file.
If enabled, the voice file will announce
"There is a problem with the cellular connection.”
This voice message will
repeat every three hours*, and only plays during daytime hours. It can be silenced by pressing the Cancel button.
The ‘C
onnect
’ light is
green during normal operation.
14.1.1
Cellular Connection Issue Detection
During normal operation SEVEN stays connected to the cellular network and internet. The base unit performs periodic
checks to confirm that each SIM card is able to connect to its network.
SEVEN can be configured to send a ‘Base
Cellular Fail’ report (typically 1355) to the monitoring centre immediately* when an issue is det
ected. When the
connection issue is resolved on the enabled SIM card(s)
a ‘Base Cellular Restore’ report
(typically 3355) will be sent to
the monitoring centre*.
SEVEN with a single SIM card
fitted will check the network every ten minutes. If six of these checks in a row are
detected as unavailable, then the
‘
Connect
’
button will flash orange or red (depending on whether an alternate
pathway is available). Optional voice message can play*.
The SIM card checks are different for
SEVEN with dual SIM cards
fitted:
•
SIM A will check the connection to the network every ten minutes. If six of these checks in a row are detected
as unavailable then the
‘
Connect
’
button will flash orange, as at least one other pathway is available.
•
SIM B is designed as a secondary connection option and the connection to the network will be checked once
a week (unless SIM A has detected a failure), following start-up/restart, and connection check. If a connection
failure is detected on SIM B then it will recheck SIM B every ten minutes. If six checks fail, the
‘
Connect
’
button will flash orange or red (depending on whether another pathway is available), i.e. orange flashing if
SIM A is still working.
Please Note:
SEVEN will continue to check a failed connection on either or both SIMs every ten minutes until
resolved, and send a failure report every 24 hours to monitoring until resolved.
14.1.2
Reporting Issue
When an emergency activation occurs and the base unit is unable to send its report due to any type of connection
issue, the base unit will play an additional voice file, "
There is a problem sending your alert, trying again
".
The standard voice file, "
Your alert is being sent
", will play following the previous message and the sequence will
repeat until either the call for help is sent, or the maximum number of dialling attempts is reached.
