18.2.2
Connect button is flashing orange
The Connect button will flash orange to let you know there is a connection that is not working, but there is still one
able to be used to send an alert.
•
Press the Connect button to hear which of the communication pathways that is enabled is not
connecting.
o
All connections are actively checked, the results are not cached, so this can take some time.
•
If you have a communication pathway enabled that is not meant to be, or no longer required, use the
Installer Setup Menu (or Chiptech Wizard) to change the communication pathway.
•
If there is a SIM card that is not connecting, check if there is a local outage occurring with the
telecommunications provider.
•
If the local network is available check that the SIM card is still enabled and active.
•
Remove all cables before opening the battery cover.
•
Check if the SIM card is still present and fitted correctly in the SIM slot located under the battery pack.
•
Replace the SIM card with another from the same provider.
•
If the issue persists, please return the SEVEN to Chiptech for servicing with a fault report.
18.2.3
Connect button is flashing red
The Connect button flashes red to indicate there are no connections to communication pathways and an alert will not
be able to be sent to monitoring.
•
Press the Connect button, this will make the base unit reconnect to all enabled pathways.
o
All connections are actively checked, the results are not cached, so this can take some time.
•
Move the location of the base unit and press the Connect button again.
•
If a connection cannot be achieved, contact the telecommunications provider and check there is
network coverage in the area.
•
Check if the SIM card is enabled and active.
•
If the SIM card is activated, and there is network coverage, there may be an issue with the SEVEN.
•
This could be resolved by updating the firmware file via a direct connection.
•
If the issue persists, please return the SEVEN to Chiptech for servicing with a fault report.
18.3
Communication Pathway Test Fail
If you have initiated a Communication Pathway test and hear the voice message
“Fail”:
•
Take note of the communication pathway that failed and the number of the slot position.
E.g., “
Cellular
A, Digital, 2
, Fail.”
•
If you have missed the voice message, simply initiate the Communication Pathway test again to hear it
repeat.
•
If the Communication Pathway Test continues to fail on the digital pathway, check with monitoring that
the data receiver is still operating as expected.
