Messaging
Messages can be sent to SEVEN to play a pre-recorded voice notification and flash the
‘
Info
’
button with an associated
indicator colour. The messaging system is designed to deliver important information to end users, and messages are
categorised as either Critical, Action request, or Low priority. Higher priority messages will play first, and lower priority
message will only be heard when the higher priority has been cleared.
Messages can be cleared by the user pressing the ‘Cancel’ button during the voice message, an auto clear timer b
eing
reached, the message being replaced by another in the same category, or a Clear message being received.
Messages at each priority level can be set in the configuration to repeat* periodically (minutes), and can also be set
to auto clear* after a set period of time (hours).
The messaging system is structured to be triggered remotely by various methods, with the first to be implemented as
SMS.
12.1
SMS Format
In order for an SMS message to be validated by SEVEN it must be sent to the correct cellular phone number and the
format must include an asterisk followed by the CSID of the base unit, then the msg= string format outlined below:
*CSIDmsg=msg1,msg2,msg3
e.g. *1234msg=C,17,15,A,0
SEVEN with a CSID of 1234 will announce the Critical messages 17 then 15, and zero is used to clear any Action
messages that have previously been sent but not yet acknowledged.
“Evacuate, Evacuate, Evacuate. Please exit the building and assemble in the designated
