RAP 2.58 Elevator Lift Plate Sensor
Input 10
The sensor is located on the right side of the el-
evator, between the elevator and the trimmer.
The sensor stops the top lift plate in the correct
position (36" from the floor).
Possible Fault Indicators

Elevator failed to lift to
the proper level
fault occurs regu-
larly or is always displayed
Initial Actions
Check that the elevator power cable is con-
nected at both ends. The top plates must be
level with the trimmer tabletop. Check and re-
pair loose wire 40 at the power panel.
Procedure

Disconnect wire 40. The sensor data

Replace the main PWB (REP 4.22
Main PWB Replacement).
Go to GP 6.9 Proximity Sensors (PL
5.29 Elevator 56421 (3/7) or PL 5.36
Elev. Electrical EE-2980-1).
Short wire 40 to 64. The sensor data screen
displays (
10-1
).

Replace the main PWB (REP 4.22 Main
PWB Replacement).
Go to GP 6.9 Proximity Sensors (PL 5.29 El-
evator 56421 (3/7) or PL 5.36 Elev. Electri-
cal EE-2980-1).
2. Check that wires 40, 63, and 64 are properly
connected on both sides of the terminal
blocks in the elevator.
3. On the elevator, remove the R.H. Rear Re-
tainer. Check that there is at most 0.01" be-
tween the sensor and the plane in which the
lift plates move through. Is the sensor
properly adjusted?

Go to GP 6.9 Proximity Sensors to review
the sensor adjustment procedure.
Remove the lift plate that is currently cover-
ing the sensor.
Disconnect the sensor, mounting bracket
and pull sensor/bracket out of machine to
adjust. It may be necessary to cut tie wraps
to provide enough slack.
Reinstall the sensor and the lift plate.
4. Adjust the lift plate retainer until there is ap-
proximately 0.01" or less clearance between
the plate and the retainer.
5. Re-test the fault occurrence.
