RAP 2.48 Registration Preset Sensor
Input 26
Each time a new book size is programmed into
the machine, the registration presets prior to
moving into its proper position. The registration
preset sensor is used to perform the preset. The
machine should be re-calibrated after each time
this sensor is moved or replaced. The user
manual describes how to calibrate the machine.
Possible Fault Indicators

The registration side stop will not move

After power is cycled, the knife assem-
bly and the registration do not move

Preset proximity sensor fail-
ure
Initial Actions
Check for loose or broken wire 15 at the power
panel.
Perform RAP 2.40 Registration Assembly Motor.
Procedure
1. Switch off the machine.
2. Check fuses FA and FB on the main PWB
(Figure 2-2). Is the resistance of fuses less
than 2 Ohms?
Y N
Replace blown fuses.
3. Open the right door and rotate the registra-
tion drive pulley until the actuator tab is
away from the sensor.
4. Close the door and switch on the machine.
5. Press A to enter sensor data mode. Does
the sensor data screen display (26-1)?
Y N
Short wire 15 to wire 64 at the main PWB.
Does the sensor data change to (26-1)?
Y N
Disconnect main power and replace the
main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Re-
placement).
Go to GP 6.9 Proximity Sensors (PL 5.13
Registration Asm. 56311-3).
6. Disconnect wire 15 at the main PWB. Does
the sensor data screen display (26-0)?
Y N
Disconnect main power and replace the
main PWB (REP 4.22 Main PWB Replace-
ment).
7. Go to GP 6.9 Proximity Sensors (PL 5.13
Registration Asm. 56311-3).
