ADJ 4.27 Elevator Pusher Height
The height of the pusher plate in the Elevator
can be adjusted. The consistency with which
books are pushed into the trimmer is partially
dependent on the adjustment of the pusher
plate.
Initial Actions
Check that the top shelves of the Elevator are
properly stopping at 36" (91.4 cm) from the floor
or level with the trimmer
’s internal conveyor
belts. If not, see the Installation and Operator's
Manual for proper setup.
Procedure
1. Wait until the Elevator shelves are not mov-
ing then switch the main power to the trim-
mer OFF. Lockout power to the trimmer.
2. Switch the main air OFF.
3. Open the top cover of the Elevator.
4. Loosen the two screws that mount the
pusher plate to the pusher bracket (Figure
4-45).
5. Push the plate to the edge of the lift plates.
6. Adjust the height of the pusher plate such
that the brushes interfere with the lift plates
by approximately 1/8" (3 mm) as shown in
Figure 4-45.
7. Tighten the pusher plate mounting screws.
Make sure the bottom edge of the pusher
plate is not crooked relative to the lift plates.
8. Check operation of the pusher plate by slid-
ing the pusher across the lift plates.
9. Return the pusher to its home position.
10. Close the top cover.
11. Restore power to the trimmer then switch
the main power ON and main air ON.
12. Run a few test books through the Elevator to
make sure the pusher is working properly.
