3. If you selected restore from a USB drive, make sure to connect the USB drive to the USB connector on the
imagePRESS Server .
4. Click Continue.
■ To restore the system by booting from a bootable USB flash drive
You can restore from a bootable USB flash drive by following the installation procedure described in “To install the system
software” on
“Install the system software using the prepared USB flash drive” on page 60 .
NOTE:
The imagePRESS Server must remain powered ON during the backup or restore process.
Installing the system software
To install the system software, you need the following items:
Fiery Installer Builder
Using the Fiery Installer Builder you can download the system software files from EFI cloud server and prepare a USB flash
drive or SATA hard disk drive (HDD) to install the system software.
Account at EFI Sales Portal
You need to have an account at EFI Sales Portal to download the Fiery Installer Builder. If you do not have an account at
EFI Sales Portal, you can register at https://salesportal.efi.com/account/registration/.
Server name or IP address of the
imagePRESS Server
If the EFI Sales Portal account information is not available, or if you are not registered to the EFI Sales Portal, you can use
the server name or IP address of the
imagePRESS Server to download the imagePRESS Server system software.
Any Windows computer with:
• Windows 8, or Windows 10
NOTE:
Security of PC may not be maintained when using Windows OS that Microsoft had ended support to.
It may become more vulnerable to security risks when installing system software on USB devices by FIB(Fiery Installer
Builder).
When installing the system software, make sure to use FIB (Fiery Installer Builder) with the PC running Microsoft-
supported Windows OS.

• USB 3.0 port
• Minimum 500MB of available memory
• Internet connection enabled
To download the system software files, you need an Internet access.
Install the Fiery Installer Builder on this Windows computer.
USB flash drive
Use the USB flash drive for installing the system software on the imagePRESS Server .
NOTE:
Due to Windows file system restriction, the maximum size of the USB flash drive you can use is 32GB. The minimum size required
is 16GB.
Ethernet cable
An Ethernet cable is required if you want to install the imagePRESS Server system software through a peer-to-peer network
connection between your computer and imagePRESS Server .
