Motherboard
When a customer prints, the motherboard and copier interface board process image data. The
CPU, which is located on the motherboard, controls the transfer of image data to and from
the motherboard and runs the interpreter. DIMMs, which are also located on the
motherboard, hold image data during printing.
Jumpers on the motherboard
The motherboard has several jumper pins. Do not remove jumpers or change the default
jumper configuration.

Before replacing the motherboard
Before you replace the motherboard, note the following:
• If you suspect that either the hard disk drive or motherboard are the source of a problem,
first replace the hard disk drive and check to see if the problem still exists. If it does, then
try replacing the motherboard.
• After you are sure that the replacement motherboard corrects the problem you were
experiencing, you will need to transfer the DIMMs, CPU, and security chip to the
replacement motherboard.
Replacement motherboard kits include thermal compound for transferring the CPU.
• Make sure that you remove the security chip from the old motherboard
before
returning it
to your authorized service/support center. If you do not transfer the security chip to the
replacement motherboard, the imagePASS will not start up, and all customer-purchased
software options will be lost.

JP7 (on the edge of motherboard, near J18)
No jumper is installed
J17 (on the corner of motherboard, near SATA 1
connector)
Jumper is installed on pins 1 and 2
J18 (on the edge of motherboard, near the on-
board speaker)
Jumper is installed on pins 1 and 2
(pin 1 is indicated by a silkscreened triangle)
J22 (on the connector edge of motherboard, near
the mounting screw standoff )
No jumper is installed
J23 (on the corner of motherboard, near J5)
No jumper is installed
