The metrics feature records the actions performed by the user during a metrics exercise to determine
areas of existing skill and areas of improvement when attempting to capture a particular view.
Coordinate System Details
The diagram identifies the coordinate system of the VIMEDIX simulator positional tracking system.
The Vimedix Metrics Coordinate System Diagram
For the male mannequin, the X, Y, Z coordinate system origin is located in proximity to the mannequin’s
heart.
For the female mannequin, the X, Y, Z coordinate system origin is located just superior to the
mannequin’s heart.
The X-axis is aligned with the medial-lateral body orientation. The Positive X direction is towards the
mannequin’s lateral left.
The Y-axis is aligned with the cranial-caudal body orientation. The Positive Y direction is towards the
mannequin’s cranium.
The Z-axis is aligned with the anterior-posterior body orientation. The Positive Z direction is towards
the mannequin’s posterior.
