CAE Healthcare Customer Service is available to help with Vimedix simulator as needed. However, some
problems can be resolved without the assistance of customer service using the following tips.
Probe and Display
The following table outlines some of the frequently asked questions about the probe and display.
Question Answer
Why is the probe not
working? 1. The probe may not be connected properly.
Disconnect the probe from the computer, place it on
the mannequin’s abdomen and reconnect it to the
Sensor 1 port.
2. Verify that your mannequin is well connected in the
Source port. If you need to reconnect the
mannequin, make sure to reboot the simulator
afterwards.
Why does my image look
funny or inaccurate? 1. Ensure the probe has been calibrated correctly. If the
probe was not calibrated properly, the axis is offset
and the image is distorted. Disconnect the probe
from the computer, place it on the mannequin’s
abdomen and reconnect it to the
Sensor 1 port.
2. Ensure there is no metal near the simulator.
Common sources of interference include metal
surfaces, hospital beds and filing cabinets near the
mannequin. The Vimedix simulator may also be too
close to the mannequin.
3. Ensure there is not another Vimedix mannequin
nearby. A minimum of six feet is required between
mannequins. Unless you have bought the simulators
at the same time, they are programmed to not
interfere.
4. Reboot the simulator.
Why is the TEE probe difficult
to insert? 1. Ensure the mannequin’s head is correctly aligned
with the body.
2. Remove the mannequin’s head and lubricate the
airway with silicone spray.
