DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
Diagnostic tests can be performed on all Cablescan testers that are capable of interfacing to
TestRite software. TestDiag automatically configures the main screen for, and provides tests
based on, the type of tester selected from the Tester/Settings window. As in other Windows
applications, functions that do not apply to the situation or tester type at the time are grayed out
and cannot be selected.
The TestDiag screen comprises check boxes and radio buttons to select the tests to be performed
on the type of tester selected. (See previous section for selecting the type of tester.) Since
TestMate, Model 64, Model 64x2, Model 128/PC, Model 256/PC, and Model 512 have built-in
self-test routines, all of their check boxes on the TestDiag screen are grayed out. The check
boxes on the TestDiag screen pertain only to the Series 90 systems. The screen is divided into
two types of tests: low voltage and high voltage. Low-voltage Tests are performed on both low-
voltage and high-voltage Series 90 testers. High-voltage Tests are special tests that are
performed on only the high-voltage Series 90 testers. When the tester type is set to Series 90, the
High-voltage Tests is grayed out. When the tester type is set to Series 90HV, none of the Test
check boxes are grayed out. However, a group of tests, Low Voltage or High Voltage, can be
disabled (grayed out) by unchecking the Enable check box in the specific group.
Note:
Interface cables between the tester and the test fixture
must be disconnected while running diagnostics.
TEST RANGE
Test Range settings allow the complete system to be tested when the radio button is set to
Full
(default). For special test setup situations, the range can be limited by setting the radio button to
Range
and entering the From (starting) and To (ending) test point range to be tested.
Test Level
Test Level is set at the factory to Normal.
Point Count
Point Count indicates the total number of test points in the system connected. The software
automatically sets this value.
Loop Self Test
Loop Self Test check box is used to place the system in a continuous diagnostic test mode
when checked. The diagnostic test is stopped (aborted) by clicking the Reset button in the
center of the screen.
