This feature only works if the CID record contains a valid

When a message waiting indication ON is received from
your telephone network service provider, the MESSAGE
WAITING symbol is displayed on all handsets currently
connected to the particular base unit. The LED on all of
these handsets blinks. You can make a call to the network
service provider to listen to the messages in your voice
mailbox.
When a message waiting OFF indication is received from
the network service provider, the MESSAGE WAITING
symbol on all handsets currently connected is turned off.
The LED on all handsets currently connected is turned off.
You can also press and hold
Cancel
during standby to turn
off the MESSAGE WAITING symbol
. Once a handset
dismisses this symbol, all other handsets that are currently
connected to the same base unit also turn off this symbol.
Consult your telephone service provider for details about
this service. The message waiting sysmbol only appears on
cable services and is not compatible with British Telecom.
