Focusing the sensing head
Review
The register sensor can only operate fault free when the lenses are
correctly focussed on the printed web to be sensed. For this purpose,
set a spacing of
9 mm
to the printed web. Lens focusing and alignment
in relation to the print marks is carried out during the make-ready process
for a new print job.
• Only tighten all locking screws by hand. Do not use a tool!
• Always carry out focusing work when the mechanical arrangement of
the traverse bar has been changed.
• Also insert lenses not always used into the register sensor holders
and fasten the lenses by means of the locking screw! This will prevent
mechanical damage.

Required aids
Allen key (width across flats 1.5 mm).
Perform the following operating steps to focus a lens:
Insert the sensing head in the holder. Observe the mis-
matching protection!
Lock the sensing head by means of the locking screw.
Set a spacing of approx. 9 mm to the printed web (printed
web - lens bottom edge).
The rectangular shaped light is
displayed with sharp contours on the printed web.
Lock the hexagonal bar of the holder by means of the
locking screw.
Use an Allen key (width across flats 1.5 mm) to tighten
the Allen screw and lock the adjustment ring. In this
position, the adjustment ring serves as a depth stop.
