When DIP switch 2-5 inside the control box is set to OFF,
the zigzag width for end backtack stitches can be set sepa-
rately from the normal zigzag width. (You must set the
start backtack zigzag width at this time too. Be sure to
make this setting if carrying out start backtack sewing
too.)
1. If the LED display

is illuminated steadily, press the

2. Press the end backtack key

Turning the end backtack function on and off

The condition changes as shown below each time the end backtack key

is pressed.

End backtacking is carried out when the end backtack indicator

is illuminated.
4. Press the end backtack key

once more.

as the current setting
for the end backtack stitch zigzag width.
The setting is displayed in units of 0.1 mm.
(For example,

represents a zigzag width of 1.0
mm for the end backtack stitches.)

zigzag width setting.

The zigzag width set for end backtacking will be ac-
cepted, and the LED display

will stop flashing and
illuminate steadily.
7. Carry out sewing. When the treadle is depressed back-
ward, the end backtack stitches will be sewn. (For the
B856E, the thread will then be trimmed.)
