If the engine cannot be started, check the following 

items to locate the cause.
1.  Check whether there is fuel in the fuel tank.
2.  Check whether fuel is flowing from the fuel valve 

to the carburettor.

3.  Disconnect the fuel pipe from the carburettor 

and turn the fuel valve to OPEN position. Check 

whether there is fuel flowing out of the pipe.

4.  If it is determined that fuel can reach the 

carburettor, then check the ignition system.

Warning 

When checking the flow of fuel, do not allow it to 

spill. Instead, collect it in a suitable container and 

keep it away from a hot engine and the exhaust 

pipe.
Keep fuel away from flame or any heat source.
Smoking is strictly prohibited while checking the 

fuel system.
Work in a well ventilated space.
