Caution
As the valve clearance has a significant effect on
engine performance, inspection and adjustment
should be undertaken at regular intervals as
recommended in the Maintenance Schedule at
Chapter 8.
The valve clearance increases over time and thus
affects engine performance by producing loud
noises and causing abnormal suction or exhaust
behavior. As a result periodic adjustment of
the valve clearance, preferably undertaken by
your distributor or maintenance professionals,
is essential. Valve clearance adjustment must be
undertaken after the first 1,000 km.
