Warning
Because carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas, never
start the engine in a room with poor ventilation.
DO not leave the motorcycle unattended with the
engine running.
Caution
Do not allow the engine to idle for a long time. The
engine could overheat causing damage to internal
parts or to the chrome plating of the exhaust
system.
Setting out on your motorcycle
Caution (ST-250 Model only)
Sitting in the normal driving position, start the
engine with the transmission in neutral and the
clutch engaged. Firmly press the clutch grip, wait a
moment, then press down the gear lever to engage
first gear, rotate the accelerator grip slowly towards
you, and smoothly and slowly release the clutch
grip.
When the clutch is engaged, the motorcycle will
move forward. To change into a higher gear, first
decelerate a little by releasing the accelerator. At
the same time, press the clutch grip, shift the gear
lever to the next highest gear, release the clutch
grip, and slowly rotate the accelerator. In this way
the highest gear can be engaged gradually.
