Before using a conventional battery, fill the battery
with electrolyte to a level between the upper and lower
limits. The fluid level must remain between these limits
throughout the life of the battery. Before filling the
battery with electrolyte, remove the battery from the
motorcycle.
Warning
Once the battery has been used, you should not
add any diluted sulphuric acid. If the fluid level
drops below the lower limit, fill with distilled water
up to the upper limit. Never use tap water.
Note
After the first 300km and every 3,000km
thereafter, have your distributor check the specific
gravity of each battery cell using a hydrometer.
Caution
Ensure that the battery is properly installed.
The ventilation hose should be attached to the
ventilation port of the battery and the other side
must be kept open. Never damage, clog or alter
the battery’s vent hose.
The battery wires must be correctly fitted.
Connect the red wire to positive (+) and the green
wire to negative (-). An incorrect connection may
damage the charging system and the battery.
