The PCM-E01.1 is an Ethernet adapter with Plug & Play capability which
is realized as PC plug-in card for the ISA bus. There are several
possibilities to connect the Ethernet card to the network:
•
via BNC connector (Thin Ethernet),
•
via a 15 pin D-SUB female connector (AUI) or
•
via a RJ45 connector (10Base-T).
The card is completely configured by using software; the corresponding
software is part of the scope of delivery of the BTV30.2.
Note: When the card is delivered it is not preinstalled. The
installation is described below.
A precondition for the installation is an operating system with network
support (e.g. Windows 95, Windows NT, ...).
The responsible network administrator has to agree with the configuration
of the network (identification in the network, necessary network services,
transfer protocols etc.).
