9.3 Write/read distances in air
(in air at 25 °C)
The write/read distances are specified for design reasons when using the ID 200
assembly kits in conjunction with the TS systems.
With all other applications, the following maximum distances must be complied with
(the minimum value is always 0 mm):

When the data carriers are mounted on steel, the read and write distance is
reduced compared with assembly in air. The distance values for steel will be
outlined in the next revision of this manual.
