Mounting the servo-hydraulic actuator

Connect the shield of digital signal cables with short length and a large area
on both sides. In the case of potential differences between the beginning
and the end of the line, install an additional equipotential bonding con-
ductor in parallel. This measure helps avoid equalizing currents. The
standard value for the cross-section is 10 mm2.

Equip any disconnectable connections with connectors and couplings with
grounded metal housing.
●
For unshielded cables of a load current circuit, twist the supply and return
conductors, e.g. in the case of the electrical connection of an external
braking resistor.
Electrical wiring
WARNING
Hot surface! The surface temperatures of the servo-
hydraulic actuator may be high. Electrical cables which
were installed in close proximity to the axis can be over-
loaded, thus heating up inadmissibly, and in the worst
case suffer an insulation fault.

Install cables at a sufficient distance to hot surfaces
or prevent overheating by proper installation of the
cables.
CAUTION
Improper connection of electrical components! If elec-
trical components are connected or wired improperly,
short-circuits or severe damage to persons and property
may result.

Connect the electrical components according to the
wiring diagram.

Wiring and connection work may only be carried out
by Bosch Rexroth or by authorized and qualified per-
sonnel.
Before starting to electrical cabling of the servo-hydraulic actuator, the fol-
lowing work must have been completed:

Mechanical installation of the servo-hydraulic actuator.

The control cabinet is fixedly installed at its place of installation or use. See
also chapter
Chapter 7.3 “Installation conditions” on page 38. The position
of or the distance between the individual components (servo-hydraulic
actuator, control cabinet) is primarily determined by the length of the cable
set.
Wire the individual components (servo-hydraulic actuator, drive controller) that
are included in the scope of delivery according to the wiring diagram (descrip-
tion of system structure and interfaces) and according the details of the rele-
vant technical data sheet of the servo-hydraulic actuator.
Connection of equipotential bonding at the servo-hydraulic actuator
The drive unit is equipped with a connection point for establishing equipoten-
tial bonding. It has to be connected before commissioning. Equipotential
bonding has to be executed in a way that ensures compliance with national reg-
ulations and standards.
