ZS550 Description (Central Processing Unit)
The control part has been realized through a high-performance PC kernel
under VxWorks, the standard operating system.
1500 Kwords have been reserved in the RAM for the control program’s
memory size. With an average command length of six words per instruction,
about 250 K instructions are programmable in addition to the data modules.
Upon start-up, the control program and the data will be copied from the flash
memory into the RAM. Then, the remanent data will be read from the SRAM
– buffered via NT – and laid over the data in the RAM.
Each central processing unit is provided with several interfaces for commu-
nication:

A serial interface which can be operated alternatively with the BUEP03,
BUEP64 or BUEP19E protocol.

Two Ethernet interfaces with the TCP/IP Internet protocol for sending
Bosch BUEP commands. The interfaces can be operated with 100 Mbit/s
(Fast Ethernet). One interface is located on the frontside, the other on the
back.
