Section 5. Operating Instructions
Start Up
1. These start up instructions assume that the GasFinderMC has been installed in accordance
with the procedures specifi ed in Section 3, and the unit is mounted in a rack and connected
to the power supply and Remote Heads or Duct Probes.
When fi rst switched on, the display for a hydrogen fl uoride
system will read:
This warm-up cycle lasts three (3) minutes. A count-down timer in the lower right of the
display will indicate the time remaining. The warm-up time may vary according to the gas
being measured.
2. If the system is receiving enough returning light the display will read:
This indicates that the GasFinderMC is checking the internal reference cell and performing
calibration diagnostics. If the system has not been aligned with a refl ector, it will not
calibrate.
3. If the Remote Head has not been aligned, the display will read:
and will cycle through any enabled channels trying to fi nd one
that has an adequate light level.
4. Press and hold the ENT key on the keypad, and the
GasFinderMC will enter a menu showing Serial Number,
Channel Specifi c Menus, System Menus and Password
Protected Menus.
5. Press the up or down key until Channel Specifi c Menus
are showing.
6. Pressing the ENT key on the keypad will display the current channel.
To change the channel number, press the ENT key to get
into the Adj. (adjust) mode and press the or the key to
sequence through the channels. Pressing the ESC key will
exit the adjust mode.
7. Press the down key on the keypad, and the display will read:
To enable or disable the channel, press the ENT key to get
into the adjust mode and press the up or down keys to enable
