Tires
New tires have a smooth
surface. This means that they
have to be roughened by
being run in with a moderate
riding style through turns in
alternating directions. It is only
after tires have been run in that
the contact faces achieve their
full adhesive capability.
New tires do not yet have
their full adhesion; there
is a danger of accidents in
extremely inclined positions.
Avoid extremely inclined
positions.

Shifting gear
Engine speed
Do not use the high end of the
engine-revolutions range in
any gear unless the engine is
at operating temperature.
When the revolution counter
needle enters the red zone on
the dial, the throttle valve
angle is limited in order to pro-
tect the engine against over-
revving. The rev-limiter cuts in
at 10,800 rpm.
Gear shifts
Shifting gear without dis-
engaging the clutch can
destroy the gearbox.
Only shift gears with the clutch
disengaged.
c
The gear display in the
multifunction display
shows the engaged gear.
