3. At the command prompt, navigate to <extracted_folder>\tools.
4. Perform one of the following actions:
• To permit a BlackBerry Mail Store Service instance to update the contact list, type Traittool -host
<instance_name> -trait MailstoreAddressRefreshEnabled -set true, where <instance_name> is the name of
the BlackBerry Enterprise Server instance that you installed the BlackBerry Mail Store Service with.
• To prevent a BlackBerry Mail Store Service instance from updating the contact list, type Traittool -host
<instance_name> -trait MailstoreAddressRefreshEnabled -set false, where <instance_name> is the name
of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server instance that you installed the BlackBerry Mail Store Service with.
5. Repeat step 4 for each BlackBerry Mail Store Service instance.
Configure how users search for email addresses in a Hosted
BlackBerry services environment
If multiple organizations subscribe to your organization's Hosted BlackBerry® services, these organizations might
locate user accounts in different IBM® Lotus® Domino® domains on the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. By default, if
a user tries to look up the contact information for another user who is located in a different IBM Lotus Domino
domain, the information does not appear. You can change the default behavior when organizations locate user
accounts in different IBM Lotus Domino domains.
1. On the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, open the Registry Editor.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
• If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows®, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In
Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
• If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
\WOW6432Node\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents.
3. Create a DWORD value named ALPAllLocalLookups.
4. Change the value to 1.
5. In the Windows® Services, restart the BlackBerry Controller.
