4.3.6.A Creating the Administrator Password
To create an administrator password for your system, access the Administrator
Functions Menu and take these steps:
1. Select “Administrator Password.”
2. Type in your password and press [Enter]. (The password is not case-sensitive.)
3. Retype your password for confirmation.
CAUTION!
Security is enabled as soon as the password has been created. Store a
copy of your password in a safe place. If you lose or forget your
administrator password, the ServSelect will have to be hardware-reset;
call Black Box Technical Support.
You should now see the option “F10 - Logout” at the bottom of the main OSD
window and a lock symbol to the right of the menu headings.
4.3.6.B Setting the Administrator’s Logout Time
To set the logout time for the administrator (the time that must pass without
keyboard or mouse activity before the administrator is automatically logged out of
the ServSelect system), access the Administrator Functions Menu and take these
steps:
1. Select “Administrator Logout Time.”
2. Enter a logout time from 0 to 60. Values from 1 to 60 set the logout time
to the corresponding number of minutes. When the logout time is set to its
factory-default value of 0 (zero), the administrator is never logged out
(can remain logged on indefinitely).
