Weekly Maintenance
Perform the following cleaning procedures weekly, or every 5 runs, whichever comes sooner.
Slide Chamber Cleaning
Run ‘Clean Chamber’ protocol to remove residual DAB stains from slide chambers.
1. Use ONCORE Chamber Cleaning Kit.
2. Fill the empty vial provided with DI Water.
3. Highlight all 36 slide positions by left clicking on position 1 and dragging mouse to position 36. Click ‘Assign Protocols’ button,
choose ‘Clean Chamber’ protocol. Click ‘Select’.
4. Click ‘Load Unload Slides’ button and place blank slides in all positions. Click ‘Slide Lids Down’ when finished.
5. Click ‘Scan Reagents’ button.
6. Load all vials from ONCORE Chamber Cleaning Kit. Make sure to fill the empty vial provided with DI Water. Fill the Buffer container
and empty the Waste container.
7. Click ‘Scan Reagents’ button.
8. Once all reagents have scanned, close lid and click ‘Start Staining Run’. Run will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete.
9. Once Clean Chamber run is complete, remove the following vials from the Reagent Rack: Clean 1, Clean 2, Clean 3, DI Water.
10. Pop the Slide Chambers out and clean with alcohol wipes on all sides. Also clean the interior edges of the Slide Chamber Housing
with alcohol wipes.
Dispense and Extraction Probe Tip and Wash Station Cleaning
Salt may build up at the tip of the probes and on the wash station surfaces over time. Use an alcohol wipe to clean the tips of the
probes and wash station weekly or as often as needed to remove salt build-up. To clean the probe tips and wash station, click on the
Systems Utilities button, go to the ‘Tool’ tab, and click on ‘Move Arm Aside’ to move the z-head to slide position 6/7 and out of the
way of the reagent rack. Click on ‘Slide Lids Down’. Wipe the outside of the Wash Station housing and the Probe Tips with alcohol
wipes. Using a small beaker of alcohol and cotton tipped applicators, clean the inside of the probe cleaning slot in the Wash Station
where the Probe Tips are normally washed.
Disinfect Buffer and Waste Carboys
1. Follow the Bottle Cleaning Procedure on the buffer and waste carboys.
2. Empty the buffer carboy and both waste carboys. Fill all carboys with 500mL of a 10% Lysol solution. Professional LYSOL®
Brand Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner (Concentrate)* is recommended.
3. Shake the carboys so that the walls of the carboys are well washed.
4. Add an additional 500mL of 10% Lysol solution and let carboys sit for 20 minutes.
5. Pour solution out. Flush all carboys with multiple changes of tap water.
6. Flush all carboys with DI Water.
