3 HARDWARE INSTALLATION
3.2.8.2 Verify Signal Strength and Packet Ratio Using
Survey Mode
Prior to installation, the Wi-Q Technology Site Survey feature in
the WQXM-PG should have been used to verify basic controller
signal strength. Once the controllers are signed on, the WQXM-PG
Site Survey webpage can be used to verify the signal strength and
packet transfer ratio to verify all information is being sent success-
fully to and from the Wi-Q Controllers.
To do this, please do the following:
1. Log in to the WQXM-PG by navigating to the IPv4 address
using an Internet browser.
2. Click on the ‘Survey Mode’ button.
3. Check the boxes next to the reader(s) connected to the
Gateway to select them for the survey.
4. Click on the ‘Start Survey’ button to begin surveying the
locks.
The WQXM-PG Gateway will begin logging the portal packet ratio,
the reader packet ratio as well as the signal strength at the portal
and the reader.
The blue LED will flash as the controller receives information from
the controller.
If the sign-on procedure was not a success, the final LEDs will be
3 quick red flashes accompanied by 3 beeps that go down in pitch.
LED activity will stop.
WAC
The blue LED will illuminate when the radios are initiating. The
controller will alternate the red, green and blue LED’s while the
controller seeks to establish communication with the WQXM-PG
Radios.
If the controller sign-on was a success, the final 3 LEDs will be 3
quick green. The blue LED will continue to flash as the controller
receives segment information from the WQXM-PG.
If the sign-on procedure was not a success, the final LEDs will be
3 quick red flashes. LED activity will stop.
Omnilock
The Omnilock is not equipped with a blue LED, therefore the light
sequence is different than that of the WDC and WAC. The control-
ler will alternate the red and green while the controller seeks to
establish communication with the WQXM-PG Radios.
If the controller sign-on was a success, the final 3 LEDs will be 3
quick green flashes. LED activity will continue while the controller
receives segment data from the WQXM-PG.
If the sign-on procedure was not a success, the final LEDs will be
3 quick red flashes. LED activity will stop.
