O&M Manual for PowerKit M26 Series Diesel Engine

5.3.2 M1 Maintenance Operations



Replace the fuel water separator



Drain the water from water col-

lecting vessel.



Remove the Screw 1 from the wa-

ter collecting vessel.



Remove the fuel filter element.



Apply oil (instead of lubricating

grease) onto the sealing gasket.



Screw the filter by hand until the

seal combines with the port; Con-

tinue to screw the filter by hand

until the filter is securely installed

(by about 3/4 round).



Assemble the screw by hand, and

tighten it up with a tool.



Exhaust the air until no bubble

appears.



Conduct leakage test.



Check the belt

The belt is automatically tensioned with

a tensioner.



Inspect the alternator belt and the

fan drive belts for wear and for

cracking. Replace the belts if the

belts are not in good condition as

shown A and B.



Slippage of loose belts can reduce

the efficiency of the driven com-

ponents. Vibration of loose belts

can cause unnecessary wear on

the following components:

Belts, pulleys and bearings.

CAUTION: If the belts are too tight,

unnecessary stress is placed on the

components. This reduces the ser-

vice life of the components.
