TYPe Of irregULariTY
The burner does not start up.
(the equipment does not perform the
start up program)
Poor flame, with sparks.
Poorly shaped flame with smoke and
soot.
Defective flame, flickering or protruding
from combustion head.
Corrosion inside the boiler.
Soot at the mouth of the chimney.
POssiBLe CaUse
1) Open contact in (Boiler or room) thermostats or
pressure-switches
2) Photocell short-circuit
3) No current, either main switch is open, or meter
circuit breaker open or mains failure
4) Thermostat line is not made according to the
diagram, or a thermostat is open
5) Fault in the appliance
1) Atomization pressure too low
2) Too much combustion air
3) Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
4) Water in fuel
1) Not enough combustion air
2) Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
3) Combustion chamber too small or of unsuitable
shape
4) Nozzle with inadequate flow with respect to the
combustion chamber size
5) Refractory lining unsuitable or excessive
6) Boiler or chimney ducts blocked
7) Atomization pressure too low
1) Excessive draught (only if flue aspirator is fitted
to chimney)
2) Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
3) Water in the fuel
4) Dirty disk
5) Too much combustion air
6) Air passage between disk and head too
closed
1) Boiler operating temperature too low (below the
dew point)
2) Fume temperature too low, approximately below
130 °C for diesel.
1) Fumes cool down too much (approximately
below 130°C) before reaching the mouth, due to
an insufficiently insulated exterior chimney or to
infiltration of cold air
sOLUTiOn
1) Increase their value or wait until they activate
due to natural reduction of the temperature or
pressure
2) Replace
3) Activate switches or wait for power to return
4) Check connections and thermostats
5) Replace
1) Restore it at the required rating
2) Reduce combustion air
3) Clean it or replace it
4) Drain it from the tank using a suitable pump.
(Never use the burner pump for this purpose)
1) Increase the combustion air flow
2) Clean it or replace it
3) Decrease diesel flow rate in function of the
combustion chamber (thermal power will
obviously be lower than necessary) or replace
the boiler
4) Increase nozzle flow rate by replacing it
5) Modify it according to the boiler manufacturer’s
instructions
6) Arrange to be cleaned
7) Restore it at the required value
1) Adjust speed of aspirator by altering diameter
of the pulleys
2) Clean it or replace it
3) Remove it from the tank with a suitable pump
(never use the burner for this job)
4) Clean it
5) Reduce the amount of combustion air
6) Correct the position of the combustion head
regulating device.
1) Increase the operating temperature
2) Increase diesel flow rate is the boiler allows it.
1) Increase chimney insulation and eliminate any
openings where cold air can enter into the
chimney.
