– Coat locking piece -1- with lubricant.

– Bring the starter -1- with the locking piece -2- into the installed

position -4- by supporting the starter on the engine bracket

using a plastic or rubber wedge -3-.

Note

In this assembly overview pay attention, that the locking piece are

in the correct installed position with the starter, if not the starter

support bolts are difficult to install and the locking piece will no

longer have its sealing capability.

Vehicles with 4-Cylinder Engine
– Install the upper starter bolt -2- in the transmission.
– Install spacer sleeve -arrow- on the bolt -2-.

All Vehicles
– Position the transmission on the engine and tighten the bolts

-6 through 11-.

– Fasten the starter with the bolts -1 and 2- while doing so make

sure the locking piece fits correctly.

– Remove the -T40170- .
