Dialing Mode
This option sets the dialing mode for the
tie line.

Dial Tone
This option determines whether the dial tone
originates from the remote or local end of the tie line, or
both (you receive a second dial tone).

Answer Supervision Time
This option sets a time limit
in milliseconds (ms) for the remote station to signal the
calling station.
●
20 to 4800 ms (increments of 20 ms)
●
300 ms (default)
Tie Line Disconnect Time
This option sets a time limit
for the release of the E or M lead.
●
140 to 2400 ms (increments of 10 ms)
●
300 ms (default)
Your choice of signaling format (signaling mode and type)
depends on the particular application. Using Table 1-4
“Tie Line Preferred Signaling Formats,” you can
determine tie line compatibility between the MERLIN II
System and other systems.
