Example Three Topology

Use the following steps to configure the topology shown in

above:

This section applies only to Access Points in a different subnet from any Aruba WLAN
Switch. If the Access Points are in the same subnet as the Aruba WLAN Switches, skip this
section. This section covers some basic network configuration required to allow the Access
Points to use the Aruba Discovery Protocol to discover the Aruba WLAN Switch over a layer-
3 network. There are various methods that can be used by this protocol (including IP multi-
cast/broadcast, DHCP Vendor Specific Options and DNS resolution).

In this example, configure an IP helper address on the gateway for the IP addresses of the
Access Points with the IP address of the Aruba WLAN Switch.

Also configure an IP helper address on the Layer-3 switch for the DHCP server that

serves the subnet of the APs.
