Slightly lift the patient to tension the straps:
•
pay attention to tubes, drains, lines etc. if any,
•
make sure all loops are securely attached and the patient
lays fully supported and comfortably in the
Maxi Transfer
sheet and
•
make sure the
Maxi Transfer
sheet is not attached to
any other object than the stretcher frame and that there is
clearance to perform the manoeuvre.
10 If an adjustment is needed, lower the patient until he/she is
supported by the bed:
•
adjust the stretcher frame balance
(See Fig. 5) (A)
by
shifting the balance to the part carrying the most of the
weight and/or
•
detach the straps and rearrange to different hooks or
select different loop lengths.
Continue to lift and transfer the patient to the receiving bed.
(See Fig. 6 and Fig. 7)
12 Lower the patient to the receiving bed.
13 Before detaching the loops make sure that
(See Fig. 8)
:
•
the patient's body weight is fully supported by the bed
•
the straps are no longer in tension.
Detach all loops and move the lift away from the patient.
15 Make sure:
•
the patient is positioned safely and comfortably,
•
there are no creases or straps under the patient and
•
the reinforcements of the
Maxi Transfer
sheet are
positioned outside the edges of the mattress.

TIPS
If using a ceiling lift, move the beds instead of the lift
to avoid moving the patient during the transfer.

WARNING
To avoid injury, make sure all loops are detached
from the hooks before removing the lift.
