Patient Assessment
ArjoHuntleigh recommends that facilities establish
regular assessment routines.
Caregivers shall assess each patient according to the
following criteria prior to use:
•
The
Maxi Transfer
sheet is intended for patients
who are highly or totally dependent and unable to
contribute with their own transfer and
repositioning.
•
The patient’s weight must not exceed 272 kg/
600 lbs.
•
The weight, girth and body shape of the patient
should be assessed in terms of potential risk for
the patient and the caregivers performing the
transfer/repositioning/lifting. The equipment
should be used with patients whose body shape
comfortably fit within the support surface of the
Maxi Transfer
sheet.
•
The number of caregivers and their positions
during the manoeuvre depend on:
- the assessment of the patient,
- the environment and
- the local working procedures for lifting,
transferring and repositioning the patient.
If these criteria are not met, an alternative equipment/
system shall be used.
If you have any questions regarding contraindication,
consult with the hospital for clinical assessment.
