Care and Preventive Maintenance
The
Maxi Transfer
sheet is subject to wear and tear and the following preventive and maintenance actions must be
performed.

NOTE
If attaching an RFID to the
Maxi Transfer
sheet (Radio Frequency Identification) or marking it with an
embroidery or equivalent, it can ONLY be done at the side valances to avoid possible interfering with
the load bearing seams.
Caregiver Obligations
Visually check all parts
The caregiver must inspect the complete
Maxi Transfer
sheet for
damage/deviations before and after every use.
Check for:
•
expiry date,
•
fraying, tears or holes

•
stitching failure or wear at the straps attachment point
(B)
(See Fig. 1)
,
•
heat damage (e.g. shrinkage, a brittle/ridged feel to the
fabric),
•
parts damaged by bleach or other chemicals, and
•
unreadable or damaged label.
If the
Maxi Transfer
sheet shows any damage/deviation as
described above or if there is any uncertainty of its condition
- Do NOT use the product!
If the handwritten text is faded under “Date of first use” and
“Hospital/Ward”, fill in the original text.
Clean/Disinfect
The caregiver must make sure that the
Maxi Transfer
sheet is
cleaned according to section
Cleaning and Disinfection
Instructions on page 28
when it is soiled, stained and between
patients to avoid cross contamination
.
