NOTE: At this point, the cap screw can be removed
from between the driven clutch faces.
16. With the engine in neutral, rotate the V-belt and
clutches counterclockwise until the V-belt is flush
with the top of the driven clutch.
17. Place the CVT cover gasket into position; then install
the cover and secure with the cap screws. Tighten the
cap screws to 8 ft-lb.
18. Install the water pump drive shaft/gear assembly into
the engine.

19. Install the two locating pins and a new gasket on the
engine; then install the water pump drive housing
cover and tighten the cap screws to 8 ft-lb.

Center Crankcase
Components
NOTE: This procedure cannot be done with the
engine/transmission in the frame. Complete Remov-
ing procedures for Top-Side, Left-Side, and
Right-Side must precede this procedure.
NOTE: For efficiency, it is preferable to remove and
disassemble only those components which need to
be addressed and to service only those components.
The technician should use discretion and sound
judgment.

Halves
1. Remove the oil strainer cap; then remove the oil
strainer.

Make sure the splines extend beyond the drive face and
washer or a false torque reading and spline damage
may occur.
