Getting Started With Basic Procedures
Using the Channel Banner
Passport DCT includes the channel banner to provide quick access to information about the
program. The channel banner shows the following information:
• The channel number and call letters
• The program title, start time, end time and rating
• The current time
• Passport DCT symbols where appropriate (for example, the star symbol for a favorite
channel)
• Whether or not you have a message from your cable company (if the letter symbol
displays)
The following figure shows the channel banner.
The channel banner displays automatically for a few seconds when you change channels. You
can also display it yourself whenever you desire while you are watching a channel.
When the channel banner displays, you can use it to browse program information for other
channels. When you browse the channel banner, the current channel does not change. This way
you can check program information for other channels while watching the channel you are
viewing currently.
