Unlocking Parental Control With the LOCK Button
If your remote control supports it, you can use the remote control LOCK button to turn off the
parental control option. The button works like a “toggle switch.” If locking is off and you press
the LOCK button, you see the display for turning on locking. If locking is on and you press the
LOCK button, you see the display for turning off locking. When you turn off locking from the
remote, it is temporary. The set-top box is put into the Off/Relock status.
• You see the following display if you have
selected to unlock this channel only. All
programs only on this channel will be
unlocked, but parental control is still locked
for other channels, rating, times and titles.
• You see the following display if you have
selected to unlock all channels. All channels
remain unlocked until the conditions noted
in the confirmation message occur.
7 Press the C button to accept the message. The message disappears and the channel now
shows the program. To relock parental control, turn the set-top box off and back on. (For
more information on relocking, refer to Locking Parental Control, page 134.
