2. INTRODUCTION
2.1. About this Manual
Thank you for purchasing the WorldCast Equinox audio codec from APT. We have developed this unit to
be as user friendly as possible and it contains many advanced features which are designed to make the
use of this product simple and straightforward.
This operations manual is intended for installers and operators of the WorldCast Equinox audio network trans-
mission link. This manual describes the function, installation and use of the unit and provides an overview of
the apt-X
®
technology.
It is recommended that new users of the WorldCast Equinox should read the full manual before switching it on
for the first time, to get a better feel for the functionality and to eliminate any possible area of confusion.
2.2. Release Notes
This manual is the primary reference covering the configuration, installation, operation and troubleshooting of
the WorldCast Equinox Audio Codec.
As of this publication date, this document is the current manual revision. We recommend that you check with
your distributor or on the APT
for updates to firmware, CMS software and this manual. For information
on installing updated firmware see section 6.5.4 Sys - Firmware or installing CMS see section 6.2 Installing the
WorldCast Codec Management System.
