It is also possible to set the time using an NTP server. Check „NTP Enable‟ if you wish for the unit to sync its
time from an NTP server. Enter a primary IP address (and secondary if required) and set the GMT offset (this
would be set to 1 in British summer time for example). The sync time, is after how many minutes the unit will
check the time and adjust if necessary.
6.5.4. Sys - Firmware
Clicking on the Firmware tab will display options for uploading a new version of the firmware. There are 2 pos-
sible ways of upgrading depending on which version of the NMS is currently in use. The first way is individual
file uploads and the second is via a batch upload. The default option is by using the batch file. If you are given
a set of files for uploading (i.e. not an .fpi file) then you will need to enable this via the config options.ini file.
This is located by navigating to the about button on the menu bar and clicking on the link for the data files.
Open ConfigOptions.ini
and change the line „Engineer Mode=1‟. Close and reopen the NMS and you will now
be able to upload individual files.

Individual file uploads
Firmware update screen
To update the firmware on the selected WorldCast Equinox/Astral you must first select the path where the new
firmware version will be found. This will vary from installation to installation and may be on a CD drive or down-
load directory if the firmware has been downloaded from the internet.
Click on the
icon to browse for the latest firmware version. When it is found double click on the path and the
Firmware Path field will be updated. The screen will also be updated with a list of firmware files available and
their relative sizes. If you uncheck any of the files they will not be uploaded to the WorldCast Meridian and that
part of the firmware will not be loaded.
To upload this firmware click on the Update Firmware icon and the upload will begin. The Upload progress in-
dicator will show how the upload is progressing.
Once the firmware has been uploaded then the unit will restart. If you check the unit in the family tree it will be
displayed as unreachable until the reboot is completed.
