SmartLine 16 User’s Guide
Enabling or Disabling Port-Level Speed Detect
1. Select the chassis or port(s) you wish to enable or disable.
2. Select Speed Detect from either the Control menu or Button Bar to
reverse the current condition. A confirmation box then appears
allowing you to cancel or proceed.
Initiating Software Resets
1. Select an entire device.
2. Select Reset from either the Control menu or Button Bar. A
confirmation box then appears allowing you to cancel or proceed. A
Reset restores the factory settings along with the original ROM-
resident microcode.
Issuing ID Signaling
ID Signaling has no effect on the network. The resulting flashing LED
only serves to direct the attention of a service technician to a particular
SmartLine device. Yellow RO LED flashing occurs on the device
selected. Proceed as follows:
1. Select an entire device.
2. Select ID from either the Control menu or Button Bar.
3. Select ID again to turn off ID Signaling.

the same name, because this will disrupt network operations. No
