Select the Comm Port being used and the highest data rate your

application can support. Direct cable connections can support rates
of up to 38,400 baud. A modem may require a lower speed.

When using a modem, select Modem from the Comm Port Setup

Window. Then return to the Configuration menu and select Modem.
The window that then appears has a data base that allows you to
select from a wide variety of modem manufacturers (see Figure 5-4).
If the list does not include the exact modem you intend to use, select
the Hayes-Compatible, 2400 BPS modem. Most modems are Hayes-
compatible and can operate with the associated settings.
