SmartLine 16 User’s Guide
Lock
This item locks the selected SmartLine selection.
If your selection is already Locked, this item
becomes Unlock, allowing you to reverse the
previous condition.
Reset
A reset returns the device to settings made at the
factory and retained in ROM. A Reset wipes out
any downloaded microcode, making Downloads
reversible.
ID
An ID serves to flash an LED on a selected
device, allowing a technician to find a SmartLine
device in a wiring closet more easily.
SpeedDet
You may need to disable Speed Detect
(unchecked) to allow some types of diagnostic
equipment to insert on a lobe port.
SyncLEDs
Synchronizes LED flashing of devices in the
same stack.
Communications Menu
Dial
This selection produces the Phone Book
window. You can add or edit names and phone
numbers to your modem phone list, or dial one
of your Phone Book entries.
Open Port
If not automatically opened when you start the
software, this item lets you open it manually. See
Auto Open in the Configuration menu.
Hang Up
In modem communications, this item
disconnects the modem.
