Features
Media-51
offers comprehensive monitoring facilities for
working in traditional
Stereo
or several multi-format
modes such as
LCR
,
LCRS
,
5.1
and
7.1
.
To provide this versatility whilst maintaining a compact
control surface, different monitor arrangements can be set
up via the console logic.
In this way, the operator is able to choose his own way of
working and select the metering, solo and mute methods
which best suit the task at hand.
Comprehensive
Direct/Playback
switching is available
(
traditionally called PEC/Direct after the Photo Electric
Cells used in optical film sound tracks
), with
Speaker Solo
and
Input Cut
functions providing a flexible monitoring
environment for almost any media format.
The
Media-51
monitor input source matrix is a submixing
system, so wide-format monitor source signals can either
be selected exclusively in the traditional way, or selected
concurrently and blended together into the speaker
outputs, as defined by the current operating format.
A typical use would be mixing music programme whilst
monitoring dialogue or FX material which isn’t actually
included in your mix, but needs to be considered!
Downmixing wide format programme material into the
monitors is also possible, although this is usually best
performed in the external encode/decode system being
used.
All monitoring options are switch selectable from the
M3
Monitor Module
control surface.
