ACS incorporates media server capabilities for both VoIP (Voice over IP) and PSTN (T1
or E1) interfaces. In addition, ACS is an application server for several other
Alcatel-Lucent applications, providing VoIP and PSTN telephony as well as Instant
Messaging and Presence.
Note:
Running a port scan (for example,
Digital Defence
) against an ACS server to
check that information is secure could cause logs to exceed capacity resulting in a
server crash.
Preventing unauthorized use
The following actions help to prevent unauthorized use of your system:
•
Checking your CDRs (Call Detail Reports).
•
Enabling fraud detection on your telephone service lines.
•
Updating employee acounts. (for example: When employees leave, delete their
accounts.)
•
Controlling the duration of access codes.
•
Turning off “dial-out allowed.” (Only allow this for a limited number of people.)
